Three Days of Racing on Michigan’s Fastest Track for Drivers in Six Categories~

Point leaders Dave Lorentz and Al Bruischart are expected to contend for the biggest shares of an expanded purse this week when US 131 Motorsports Park, Michigan’s fastest track, presents its annual Racers Appreciation Memorial Day Weekend episode of the Lane Automotive Bracket Series.

Lorentz, a resident of Benton Harbor, and Bruischart, the bracket racing veteran from Allegan, currently lead the points in Box and No Box, respectively.

Separate Lane Series events on Saturday, Sunday and Monday will crown champions and award championship points in Box, No Box, Sportsman and three Jr. Dragster classes with Sunday’s Box and No Box winners pocketing $3,000 each.

Racing begins with a test-and-tune session from 4-8 p.m. on Friday followed by a golf cart race paying a $500 to win.  Gates open Saturday, Sunday and Monday at 8 am with one time trial followed by a full race program.

In addition to the big Sunday payday in Box and No Box, the winners of those two categories will take home $2,500 Saturday night and $1,500 on Monday.  Sportsman winners will earn $400, $500 and $450, respectively, over the three days.

Adult admission is $15 daily with children 12 and under free with a ticketed adult.  Three-day entry fees are $180 in the two premier categories and $100 in Street.
