What do you get when you strap one of the most dominant drag racers of all time into the cockpit of the most popular Top Fuel car ever to compete at US 131 Motorsports Park?  Magic.  Don’t miss six-time IHRA World Champion Clay Millican’s debut in the Lagana brothers’ “Nitro Ninja” Top Fuel dragster Friday and Saturday, Aug. 6-7, at the Northern Nationals.  From 2001 through 2006, Millican was more dominant at his craft than even John Force.  The driver from Drummonds, Tenn., won six straight IHRA championships and crossed the finish line first in 50 of 59 final rounds.  Now a regular on the NHRA tour where he has finished as high as third in points, he’ll fill in this week for track record holder Dom Lagana who was seriously injured one year ago this week in a passenger car accident in Indianapolis.

Lagana, whose credits include a victory in the 2017 ANDRA Nationals at Calder Park Speedway outside Melbourne, Australia, ran 4.485 seconds at 338.35 mph at US 131 in 2017.  Millican set the IHRA record when he ran 4.484 at Rockingham in 2006.  Dom will be at the track in support along with older brother Bobby Jr.

More?  How about nostalgia Funny Cars, Pro Mods, front engine nitro burners, jets and a P/T Cruiser wheelstander?  It’s the return of the Northern Nationals. Tickets on-line or at the gate.
