Discovery Channel TV Star’s Memphis Street Racer Series Features Arm Drop Starts~

JJ’s Arm Drop: America’s List TV star JJ da Boss, a.k.a. Jonathan Day, brings his Memphis Street Racer series JJ’s Arm Drop to US 131 Motorsports Park on July 15-16 with a full day of small tire racing on Friday followed by an equally full day of big tire competition Saturday.

Day, a 49-year-old Memphis native who became a breakout star on the Discovery Channel series at the wheel of a bevy of fast cars including Ziptie and Ole Heavy, branched out in 2021 with the Memphis Street Racer series that requires zero car entry fee, features an arm drop start and pays $5,000 to each day’s winner.

The acknowledged master of the “off Witcha Head; Flashlight dead” arm drop start, Day is widely regarded as the fastest man on the mean streets of Memphis.  The Memphis team that will be on sight is likely to take on some tough competition as it is rumored to have a few folks from Detroit on site to be sure that JJ’s money stays in Michigan!

Gates open daily at 9 am for the US 131 debut of JJ’s arm Drop.  Testing from 1 pm until 5 pm will lead into nightly eliminations starting promptly at 7 pm.  In addition to the feature events, a champion also will be crowned each day in a “Daily Driver” class.
