Torrence Racing Presents the Lucas Oil/Protect the Harvest Midwest Jr. Dragster Super Series

Young racers angling to become the next Steve Torrence, J.R.Todd or Erica Enders assemble this week at US 131 Motorsports Park to compete for the fifth consecutive year in the Lucas Oil/Protect the Harvest Midwest Jr. Dragster Super Series presented this year by Torrence Racing.

Racers from six through 17 years of age will compete for cash, hardware and bragging rights on Michigan’s fastest track.

A four-hour test-and-tune session on Friday (6-10 p.m.) will lead into a two-day racing program that will crown champions in three age group classes (6-9, 10-12 and 13-17), four Index classes (7.90, 8.90, 11.90 and 13.90) plus Outlaw 330, Sportsman and Quick 16. There also will be a Gamblers Race.

The fifth of seven races in a series contested at tracks in four states (Indiana, Illinois, Ohio and Michigan), the US 131 event is expected to draw participants from as many as 20 states and Canada.

General admission is $15 daily or $40 for the weekend. Children under six are free with and adult.
