Test-and-Tune, Lane Automotive Bracket Series Still Scheduled for Now
Unfortunately for Michigan racers and race fans, the prospect of real thunder and all that comes with it has at least temporarily silenced the cackle of fuel Funny Cars and the roar of “The Original Jet Truck” that had been expected at this week’s annual “Night of Thunder” at US 131 Motorsports Park.
A wet-and-chilly weekend forecast compelled General Manager Jason Peterson to pull the plug on the season’s first major spectator event. However, Friday’s test-and-tune session still is on the docket and a call on Sunday’s Lane Automotive Bracket Series event will be made on Saturday.
General admission tickets purchased for the “Night of Thunder” can be used at the Funny Car Nationals on Sept. 8 of Sept. 9 or, with a $10 upgrade fee, for the US 131 Northern Nationals on August 11 or August 12.
Reserved seat ticket holders will be contacted individually regarding their ticket options.
