US 131 Motorsports Park will begin the Lane Automotive Bracket Series this Saturday, April 30. This will be the first of thirteen scheduled point’s races for the 2016 season. Racers will be competing for the guaranteed purses of $1200 to win in Top ET and Modified, $350 to win in Street and $150 to win in both Jr. Dragster classes, Beginner and Advanced. US 131 MSP racers are also trying to earn a coveted spot on the 2016 Team US 131 to compete in the IHRA Thunder Team Finals. Just as important to our competitors is the fact that all Top ET and Modified racers will be vying for a spot to race for the Engine Pro Engine Giveaway to be contested at the famed Funny Car Nationals presented by Discount Tire on September 10, 2016.
This weekend will start off with a Friday Night Test & Tune with gates opening at 5pm on track from 6pm until 11pm, cost is just $25 to test and $10 to watch. Saturday gates will open at 8:30am with time trials scheduled to begin at 10am with a run order of Modified, Top ET, Jr. Dragster and Street. Adult spectator/crew cost is $12, children ages 6-12 are $5 and children under six are free. Race entry is $50 for Top ET and Modified and $35 for Street and Jr. Dragster.
Racers be sure that your IHRA license is up-to-date and that you have entered into the Summit Super Series for 2016 by the weekend. IHRA watches this very closely and there is no grace period for not having this completed before the start of the race. Racers you may also enter into the track points program during the week during office hours 9am-4pm. Competitors may also enter into points prior to the first round of eliminations at the track.
