With the unseasonably warm winter weather construction has begun at US 131 Motorsports Park.  SWT Excavating of Galesburg, owned by local racer and past track champion Scott Taylor, has been able to take advantage of the mild weather and rectify a drainage issue leading into the racer pit area.  “We have had an area as you enter into the pits that collects water after it rains near the lone tree.” stated Jason Peterson Executive VP of Operations.  “We kept waiting for winter to come and finally decided call Scott and have him handle the issue.” The main work was completed recently, and the concrete pad was poured this week.  This project was one of two that were planned for this off season.

The second project, much more intensive, has accomplished some of the preliminary work already.  This project is the $125,000 electrical upgrade in the racer pit parking.  The current 15 amp powered pit spots will be upgraded to state-of-the-art full 50amp RV style hookups.  This project is on schedule to be completed in April of this year.
