Veteran Track Manager Retiring After 14 Seasons at ‘The Fastest Track in Michigan’
US 131 Motorsports Park officials confirmed Wednesday that Jay Gilman, the long-time manager of “Michigan’s Fastest Track,” is pulling the parachutes on a long career in racetrack operations.
“Jay has been a loyal and reliable team member,” said General Manager and VP of Operations Jason Peterson. “He worked long hours and was willing to do whatever was necessary. We appreciate his hard work and hope that he enjoys his retirement for many years to come.”
The first Track Manager at Pueblo Motorsports Park in Colorado, Gilman held the same position at US 131 the past 14 seasons.
“At a time when it’s hard to find people who are willing to work, I don’t remember Jay ever missing a day,” said Stephanie Peterson, the track’s PR and Marketing Director. “I know the whole staff appreciated Jay for his tireless work ethic, positive attitude and, especially, his trustworthiness.”
