Douglass Doubles Up as Michigan Riders Doherty, Price, Steensma Also Prevail
Dennis Fisher of Dayton, Ohio, and Tyler Wilson of Walnut Grove, NC, won their respective classes Sunday in the Perry Harley-Davidson AMRA All-Harley Michigan Nationals at US 131 Motorsports Park.
Fisher turned back point leader and former champion Rich Vreeland of Bloomsburg, PA, to win the Nitro Funny Bike title while Wilson bested Jim Martin of Palestine, IL, to prevail in Pro Fuel. Charley Douglass of Staunton, VA, was the only rider able to double-up, claiming titles in Outlaw Street and Super Street.
Michigan winners in the two-day event included Bill Doherty of Wyoming, who stopped John Price of Emmitsburg, MD, in the Pro Mod finale; Howard Steensma of Hastings, who won in Open Street; Allen Westcomb of Muskegon, who prevailed in Trophy Heads Up; and Kevin Stevens of Saugatuck, who was unopposed in the 2-Stroke Eliminator final.
