This past weekend, May 14-15, was the first Lane Bracket Series points race for the 2022 racing season.  The weather was beautiful on Saturday, despite negative weather forecasts all week, and the racing was competitive as expected.  However, Sunday received the unexpected rains, and racing was incomplete.
Saturday’s winners were Top ET Troy Stone of Elkhart, IN def. Austin Truhler of South Bend, IN, and semi-finalist was Steve Mesik of Plainwell.
Modified winner Donnie Hagar of Clarklake def. Johnny Cook of Howell, and semi-finalist was Bill Schmidt of Fruitport.
Street winner Kyle Wanamaker of Plainwell def. Tyler Nelkin of West Bloomfield, and semi-finalists were Rustin Scott of Marne and Bryan Vosters of Mattawan.
Master Jr. Dragster winner Lizzie Martell of Carleton def. Braden Peters of Howell, and semi-finalist was Summer Gibson of Omstead.
Advanced Jr. Dragster winner Conner Sebright of Holland def. Hannah Peterson of Plainwell and semi-finalist was Rebekah Peterson of Plainwell.
Beginner Jr. Dragster winner Ethan Russell of Adrian def. Trista Pitsch of Dorr, and semi-finalist was Josie Wanamaker of Kalamazoo.
Next points race weekend is a Racer Appreciation weekend on May 27-30.  We will kick off Friday with Lane Bracket testing, Saturday $2500 to win in Top and Mod, $3000 on Sunday, regular guaranteed payout on Monday, Memorial Day.
