Bannsen Also a Winner in 10th Annual Event at US 131 Motorsports Park
Even though the rains threatened this year’s Fall Bug Run, the die-hards came and saw drag racing, beautiful vehicles in the car show and plenty of parts in the swap meet. Reny Villemure of Flat Rock and Rudy Bannsen of Zeeland emerged as the big winners on Sunday at the 10th annual Fall Bug Run at US 131 Motorsports Park.
In an all-Villemure final, Reny beat his son, Andy, for the Pro ET title when the latter was guilty of a foul start. Bannsen beat Bren Hartman of Battle Creek to handily win the Street title.
Fans, racers and participants are already looking forward to next year’s VW Bug Runs at US 131 as one is typically held in July and October.

Pro ET – Reny Villemure, Flat Rock, 7.158 on a 7.200, 95.04 mph, def. Andy Villemure, Holland, foul.
Street – Rudy Bannsen, Zeeland, 11.808 on an 11.750, 56.26 mph, def. Bren Hartman, Battle Creek, 10.249 on a 9.80, 66.06 mph.
