In 2017, American Race Cars of Millbury, Ohio, again will provide gift certificates worth a total of $9,500 toward the purchase of new ARC dragsters including a $1,500 certificate awarded to the winner of the season-ending American Race Cars Jr. Dragster Shootout at US 131 Motorsports Park.

A second $8,000 certificate will be awarded to the American Race Cars Top ET Shootout by the company which built the cars in which Steve Furr of Harrisburg, N.C., won the 2016 IHRA World Championship in Top Dragster and in which Nick Folk, Jeff Strickland and Timmy Smith won titles in the NHRA series.

ARC owner Mark Horton and US 131 General Manager Jason Peterson put together the ARC Shootout in which the top four point-producers in the Jr. Dragster Masters class and the Top 2 in the Advanced and Beginner division  will be afforded the opportunity to run for the $1,500 certificate.  In Top ET the top 8 points finalist will also race for the American Race Cars certificate.  Both Shootouts will be contested during the 13th annual Funny Car Nationals event September 9th 207.

“It’s a really good program for our Jr. Dragster racers,” said Stephanie Peterson, Marketing Director for US 131, “and it’s one of the reasons that the junior program continues to grow and expand.  We’re excited to have American Race Cars back with us as a major sponsor.”
