In addition to the terrific line up back by popular demand is Bobby Lagana in his 300+ miles-per-hour Top Fuel Dragster. Lagana's dragster ran 4.74 seconds in the quarter-mile at 318 MPH in June during US 131's Summer Showdown. The air should be great for this weekend.

The Mickey Thompson Tires AA/FC Challenge presented by Comp Cams and Victory Performance will makes its first appearance at US 131 Motorsports Park in Martin this Friday and Saturday, September 7-8. This is the fourth race on the six-event 2012 schedule for the nostalgia funny car series.

Nostalgia Funny Cars (AA/FC) will be using 3,000 horsepower engines burning 95% nitromethane to race down the quarter-mile track at speeds of over 250 mph. Racers from eight states will compete in cars including a '77 Trans Am, a '66 Camaro, a '71 Mustang and a Plymouth Duster.

The DRO AA/FC Challenge cars will have one qualifying session on Friday at 8pm, Sept. 7, with a second qualifying session on Saturday at 4pm to set the eight-car field. The elimination rounds will be run on Saturday at 6pm.

John Hale, the 2011 series champion, won the first two events of this season at Las Vegas and Cedar Rapids, Iowa, but did not even make the ultra-competitive field for the last event held Aug. 24-25 at Cordova (Ill.) Dragway Park during the prestigious 59th annual World Series of Drag Racing. First time winner Joe Haas from Ohio was crowned beating Californian Del Worsham, the 2011 NHRA Top Fuel champion.

Powershield Coatings is sponsoring an Outlaw Automatic Dragster class.  This class is an up and coming outlaw class with these vehicles running on the 1/8 in under 3.90 seconds at speeds pushing 190mph. 

No event is complete without a jet-powered vehicle.  This year fans will see a jet S-10 pick-up truck and a wheel-staanding PT Cruiser.

The Lane Automotive Bracket Series will be concluding its season and champions will be crowned on Saturday night in the Top ET, Modified, Street, Advanced Jr. Dragster and Beginner Jr. Dragster classes.

Topping off an already exciting evening will be the 5th Annual Engine Pro/Dart Machinery/Performance Engineering Engine Giveaway where one happy racer will walk away with a brand new racing engine valued at approximately $20,000.

Tickets are available online for $17 and includes free children tickets, stop by any Flagstar Bank and purchase adult tickets for only $15 and children ages 6-12 are only $5.  Gates prices the day of the show are $12 on Friday, $20 on Saturday, children ages 6-12 are $5 on Friday and $7 on Saturday.  Free parking and pit passes are included in each admission.

VIP reserved seats in our Champions Club are still available.  These are premium seats and include, a catered meal, unlimited food and drinks from 4:30pm-6pm, private bar, complimentary 50th anniversary hat and personal meet and greet with professional drivers.  Tickets are $50 and include all the above.
